Mia Zepeda: Music

Fourteen

(Mia Zepeda)
There's a fourteen year old who's disappointed in me
She left all her hopes and dreams in my hands so trustingly

But if she could see me now
she would scream out loud
who the hell are you and what have you done to me?
All I can do is sigh and say
things change when you grow up, and I'm sorry

There was a girl who loved a boy
and she swore it would always be so
but this woman when given the choice found instead
that she'd already fallen out of love long ago

and if that girl could see me now she would scream out loud
who the hell are you and what have you done to me?
All I can do is sigh and say
things change when you grow up, and I'm sorry

We went rounds and rounds in my dream last night
As we argued into morning
She said,
How dare you talk down to me, I made you who you are!
And now you're just like them, and you've made me boring!

And as I woke up I heard her scream out loud
who the hell are you and what have you done to me?
But she couldn't hear me say
things change when you grow up and I'm sorry

There's a fourteen year old
and I hope someday she'll forgive me
She left all her hopes and dreams up to me so solemnly

But if she could see me now she would scream out loud
who the hell are you and what have you done to me?
But all I can do is sigh and say
things change when you grow up and I'm sorry

I don't know what else to say
things changed as we grew up and I'm sorry

things changes as we grew up and I'm sorry

things changed as we grew up, I'm so sorry
